Root Children specialises in nature-based play. We combine elements of forest school with a focus on play and holistic development. We provide an opportunity for children to learn through the natural world, develop self-esteem and resilience and most of all have mucky, messy fun.
Our Nature Play sessions cater for up to 12 children in outdoor school settings.
These sessions are ideal for children who are looking to gain extra confidence or self-esteem within a focused group setting of up to 6 children.
Root Children was set up by Jennie Casey. Jennie is passionate about giving children the opportunity to grow and develop surrounded by nature.
She is a fully qualified forest school leader and a member of the Irish Forest School Association with a background in drama-in-education and additional needs education. Jennie was awarded a first-class-honours degree in Drama from Trinity College and has completed level 6 certificates in Nature Based Play Therapy and Therapeutic Play Skills. She is currently completing an MA in Play Therapy with The Children’s Therapy Centre.
